STORYLINE:
Iran’s Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh has arrived in China for the opening of a security forum, his first known trip abroad since the start of the war with Israel.

Nasirzadeh is expected to attend a meeting in the coastal city of Qingdao between defense ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The security-focused group was established in 2001 by China and Russia, and includes Iran as a member alongside countries such as India, Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
