The worst tornado in U.S. history, the "Tri-State Tornado," plowed a 219-mile track from Missouri through Illinois into Indiana. WIth winds in excess of 300 mph, the tornado traveled forward at 73 mph and was a mile wide. 695 people died from the twister on March 18, 1925. #tristatetornado #tornado #1925
