Happy H- er, Happy November! This was supposed to be a Halloween upload, but instead I finished it today! Number Nine is inspired by one of my favorite animated films, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. The song centers on the character of Death, and his simple goal of hunting a resilient cat who has cheated him eight times already. Hard not to write a song about a villain this good.

Lyrics:
One purpose doesn't always cut it
Two tango to the grave and then there's
Three chances that I'm gonna give you
For the final warrant tendered
Five seconds and your confidence is frozen
Six, and you're already gone
Seven deadly little sins that haunt you
Eight, and it's just been too long
I'm the hunter
Creeping under
And I know you've seen my face before
A deadly agent
Now impatient
So I can't ignore you anymore
Your bounty's far too prized
I don't think you'll land on your feet this time
Wasted each of your lives
Now you're pushing the end of number nine
'Cause I think your indifference is a crime
So I wanna remember number nine
One slice and it's your shattered ego
Too ready to escape the dark
Three trilogies of flaunting, what for?
Death has got more bite than bark
Five seconds and you've left yourself wide open
Six, and the last dance is on
Seven steps and I will leave you broken
Eight, when I snuff out your song
Your bounty's far too prized
I don't think you'll land on your feet this time
Wasted each of your lives
Now you're pushing the end of number nine
'Cause I think your indifference is a crime
So I wanna remember number nine
Cold steel
Waiting in darkness for the last meal
Owed to the underworld in signed deal
Forces your arrogance won't conceal
All heroes have to die
Blades talk
Singing into the night where death walks
No wish can save you when the wolf stalks
I've got your number when your heart stops
So much bravado for a lie
Your bounty's far too prized
I don't think you'll land on your feet this time
Wasted each of your lives
Now you're pushing the end of number nine
'Cause I think your indifference is a crime
So I wanna remember number nine
