In this short, Jake tells us a little bit about the uninhabited island of Kahoolawe. Kahoolawe is the smallest of the eight Hawaiian Islands, and was previously utilized for bombing practice by the United States Navy. It lies approximately seven miles southwest of Maui and is eleven miles long and six miles wide. There is currently a small group of volunteers working to replant the island.

Kahoolawe and other Hawaiian Islands including Maui, Lanai, and Molokai all fall under the jurisdiction of Maui County. While we do not typically fly over Molokai, you can discover the beauty of the three other islands on one of our exhilarating Maui helicopter tours.
