The launch began successfully, with all engines firing and the rocket lifting off the ground. It climbed for about 14 seconds before losing control and crashing near the launch site. The rocket was in the air for a total of 23 seconds, and though it did not reach space, no one was hurt and there was no major damage caused by the fall.
Despite the crash, the mission is being seen as a major milestone. Engineers and officials say that getting the rocket off the ground and collecting real flight data is a big step forward. It allows them to understand what went wrong and how to improve the rocket for future flights.
The company plans to try again soon, using what they’ve learned from this test. This effort is part of a larger goal to make Australia a player in the global space industry and support satellite launches in the future.
