The Cranberries are an Irish alternative rock band formed in Limerick in 1989. The classic lineup included Dolores O’Riordan (vocals, guitar), Noel Hogan (guitar), Mike Hogan (bass), and Fergal Lawler (drums). The band rose to international fame in the early 1990s with their debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?, featuring hits like “Linger” and “Dreams.” They became known for their unique blend of alternative rock, jangle pop, and Celtic influences, as well as Dolores O’Riordan’s unmistakable voice and her signature yodel-like vocal inflections. Throughout the ’90s, they released a string of successful albums, including No Need to Argue with the global hit “Zombie,” which became an anthem of protest and resilience. Their lyrics often addressed themes of love, politics, and Irish identity.

Now (2010s–2020s):
The Cranberries reunited in the late 2000s after a brief hiatus and continued touring and recording. Tragically, Dolores O’Riordan passed away suddenly in January 2018, a loss deeply felt by fans and the music world. In 2019, the band released In the End, their final studio album, featuring O’Riordan’s last recorded vocals — an emotional farewell that was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Today, The Cranberries are remembered as one of the most iconic alternative rock bands of the ’90s, with a timeless legacy. Their music continues to inspire new generations, and songs like “Zombie,” “Linger,” and “Ode to My Family” remain widely loved. The surviving members have honored Dolores’s memory while choosing not to continue as a band without her.
