This is a recording that uses the JextTELEZ Buzz Tone fuzz pedal on every single guitar track. All instruments played by Bob Ebeling with special guest leads by Joanne Shaw Taylor. The JextTelez Buzz Tone was designed by Colin Simon and Bob Ebeling. It is a recreation with new features added of the Selmer Buzz Tone-- an early fuzz pedal from 1966/7 that Syd Barrett used. Jext Telez added switchable votages as the original only ran on a very saggy sounding 3 volts. This new version allows you to switch between 3, 6 and 9 volts, giving the pedal a very serious facelift in headroom and richness of tone.
The Jext Telez Buzz Tone Blue Edition was used on every guitar track.
Clean guitars via Strats and Telecasters with the gain turned down into a Hiwatt or Fender Twin. Buzz Tone adds fantastic warmth and sparkle.
Distorted guitars via SG Jr. through Hiwatt. Crank the Buzz Tone Gain and get wall of fuzzstortion cooler than a Big Muff.
Joanne's leads were Strat through 1963 Vox AC30, Buzz Tone dimed on 9 volt setting. Full bodied, raw power.
Other leads and backwards guitars were recorded 'direct in'. Just a telecaster into the Buzz Tone into the recording. Classssssic.
Other little doo dads and wut-nots also for layering and fun sake, all recorded with the Buzz Tone of course. The only other pedal used in any of this recording was a Boss DM-2 delay on a few of the direct guitars.
