As Easter approaches, I spent a quiet, sunlit day here in the French countryside, foraging blossoming branches by bike, baking soft buttercream-topped cakes, and creating a simple gratitude tree.
In this video, I share a glimpse into our slow spring days: delicate florals, homemade Easter treats, and the peaceful rhythm of life at home. We begin with a handful of foraged branches that become a centrepiece of thanks, each ribbon and handwritten tag carrying a note of gratitude. It’s also my chance to thank you, my beautiful YouTube community, for 20,000 kind and generous souls who have made this space feel like home. Later, I share easy Easter desserts : a sponge cake with buttercream icing and pastel eggs, and floral-topped doughnuts, before setting a garden table to enjoy it all. 🍰 Buttercream Icing Recipe
60g butter (1/4 cup)
160g Philadelphia cream cheese (2/3 cup)
480g icing sugar (4 cups)

Method:
In a large bowl, beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add icing sugar, continuing to beat until light and fluffy. Add a touch of vanilla extract if desired. Chill slightly before piping.

To assemble:

Bake the sponge in two round tins and let cool.
Pipe a layer of buttercream between the cakes.
Cover the top with buttercream and decorate with pastel Easter eggs (in different sizes), edible dried hibiscus petals, and fresh primrose flowers.
Chill before serving. Best enjoyed with family under the spring sunshine.

🍩 Easter Doughnuts
Use store-bought plain doughnuts. Pipe a swirl of buttercream icing on top, then decorate with pastel Easter eggs, blueberries, milk chocolate shavings, and edible flowers such as primroses.
