In this video I show you how I recreate a classic mid-80s dancehall riddim using Ableton Live and a selection of plugins that emulate the instruments and effects of the era. In 1985, Jamaican music producers replaced electric guitars and acoustic drum kits with synthesizers and drum machines, spawning a new genre of electronic reggae that changed the way we think about music production forever: Digital Dancehall.
