We talk a lot about anxiety symptoms related to how people think, how they feel, and physical sensations. Today, I wanted to share this video with you, highlighting some of the body-related anxiety behaviours that many people struggle with. These can be hard to stop and are often a way of soothing stress and anxiety. However, they can also cause more stress and anxiety because of the impact they can have on your body, your day-to-day life, and the stress about not being able to stop them.
The way out of these behaviours is to gradually reduce and eliminate them while, at the same time, replacing them with alternative soothing behaviours that work better for you and your body. As well as this, addressing the root causes of your anxiety and its overall symptoms can help you get to a longer-lasting solution, see my book - Ten Times Calmer for more on this.
Not everyone who has anxiety will do these things. These behaviours can vary from person to person. This video is for informational and educational purposes only and is not meant for diagnosis. Always consult with your doctor for this, or if you are concerned about any of these symptoms.
