Teknofag is a self-proclaimed human anomaly. Fitting no particular mould, they are in a constant state of change, growing and flowing through sounds and emotions. With an eclectic range of tunes, Teknofag is sure to get you moving. Teknofag dishes out groovy and hypnotic techno & house inspired by the progressive dance music coming out of Australia. They are also heavily influenced by the chunky, dirty, and sexy; often left-of-center queer vocal indie dance and tech house tracks.
Teknofag can be seen playing regularly at clubs around Melbourne, and has graced the decks at clubs such as POOF DOOF, Circus, New Guernica, Day Spa, My Aeon, Revolver Upstairs, OneSixOne, and more!

The origin of Teknofag’s name is an act of protest. The act of protest towards those who used the word to weaponize against them in their past and present, to change people’s outlook into the future. A courageous act of standing tall and shouting “THIS IS WHO I AM, AND I’M SURE AS HELL PROUD TO BE ME”.

Teknofag has a background in the visual arts and a passion for fashion. They would spend countless nights a week within the four walls of a Melbourne nightclub, it was the perfect place for self-expression. It is there that they discovered their love for electronic music, being moved physically and emotionally by the DJs and the journeys they took them on, and allowing the music to take full control of their body. The smiles they could not wipe off their face made them realise that they want to be able to bring joy to others through music as has been done to them.
To Teknofag, music is the best way to tell a story, share a moment, and create memories.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.
