Comparison between two premium powered speakers with 5 inch woofers. Audioengine A5+ and Edifier S1000DB have similar price tags, both are well build and are remotly controlled, but Edifier tops A5+ with additional digital inputs and Apt-X enabled Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. Soundwise Edifier has more power and groove down low and more pronounced, more precise and focused top end. Audioengine on the other hand has more pronounced lower midrange and is overall a bit more laid back speaker. If I was sepenind my own money I would go with Edifier, especially if You wanted to use it in more midfield situations, as a TV speaker or all in one multimedia solution. Audioengine could be a good choice for someone looking for nearfield speaeker who also listens to a lot of vocal heavy music. What do You think? Where would Your money go?
