I'm currently doing the FAWM challenge (February Album Writing Month), to come up with 14 tracks in one month. Some of these I'm recording/doing live during Twitch streams (maybe I'll do one or two on YT later). This is one highlight where I came up with my FAWM#2 track. from scratch to arrangement, in just under an hour and a half. Some of these FAWM tracks can take me anywhere from 30 mins to a few hours. I'll try and share the better ones that I record.
I've done FAWM many times in the past, since maybe more than a decade, though I skipped some of the last years. For me this challenge is very important and has been crucial to me in being able to work very quickly and focused, and find very efficient and fast workflows while mixing and arranging on the fly and attempting to retain a fairly decent quality in production. It's a tough challenge, which for me, has improved my composition, mixing and general music workflow abilities by a huge amount. I recommend it to anyone that wants to improve their skills. In my opinion, one of the best advantages to working (practicing) incredibly fast and trying not to worry too much about the finished product, is that you tend to stay firmly within the creative zone (assuming you're not getting distracted), and also avoid getting bored and/or fatigued by the track you're working on. But there's lots of other advantages too, with the only downside being some tracks may sound rushed/unfinished, but rushed/unfinished tracks are not only acceptable but somewhat encouraged, so that the focus is always on the creative/compositional aspect. There's always plenty of time later for tweaking, fine tuning, mixing and mastering etc
