What'd I Say started out as an improvisation late one night when Ray Charles and his band ran out of material at a gig. Unperturbed, Ray Charles tuned to his band and said follow my lead. The result was the song What'd I Say.Elvis covered the song in his fifteenth movie, Viva Las Vegas.
