So that 60 Second Sessions contest Roland is hosting eh? Seeing as I bought a JX-03 recently (and would admittedly love to win a TB-03 if I could) I thought I'd attempt to enter it. However, of course, what I made to enter said contest was ridiculously short and I kinda prefer to draw things out a little. So I recorded a separate longer version. Which is this.
So yes! Instead of my usual house/techno crap that sounds like it's been stuck in a time loop where it's always 1995, have some minimal synthwave shenanigans instead! Which still sounds like it's stuck in the past but whatevs...
Nerdy Technicalities:
-- The TR-505 is serving as the master, with the JX-03 slaved to it via MIDI
-- The TR-505 is being run through a Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine pedal. Because nothing says 80's like gratuitous reverb on the drums.
-- The JX-03 has its internal chorus and internal delay effects running, but no external effects are used on it otherwise.
-- The 505 and the pedal it's running through are then plugged into the mix input on the JX-03, and the output of that is recorded via my Tascam DR-05.
