*Kenner wrote and recorded the original version as the b-side of "A Very True Story", on Instant 3234, but it didn't too much; it stalled at #103 in the Billboard "Bubbling Under charts***. But Kenner still liked the song and was determined to take it a little further. So, he approached Fats, hoping to persuade him to record it. That ought to get the song some attention. Domino agreed, with the proviso that he receive half the publishing rights and be listed as co-writer of the song. Kenner accepted the deal. Unfortunately, Domino was nearing the end of an incredible stretch of recording popular songs so it didn't bring Kenner too much (money). Still, an unusual recording for Fats. It should have been a hit!
Fats made a 50% royalties-deal with Kenner concerning 6 or 7 songs Kenner wrote: "Land Of 1000 Dances"(session #83), "Packin’ Up", "Something You Got"(session #84), "The Life Of My Baby", "They Took My Money", "Get On This Train" and "I'm The Greatest".
Only "They Took My Money" and "I'm The Greatest" were released as Kenner 45's, resp. on Uptown 708 and Uptown 716.
