Unraveling the Modern History of China and East Asia Through Manchuria

「「満洲」は中国東北地方を指し、近代日本と深く関わる地域。現地農民の行動原理や日本人引揚者の記憶は、戦後日本社会や東アジアとの交流を理解する鍵だと考えます。満洲の歴史を紐解くことは、現代や未来を考える上でも重要な示唆を与えてくれます。」
“Manchuria refers to a region in northeastern China that has deep ties to modern Japan. The behavioral principles of its local farmers and the memories of Japanese repatriates are crucial for understanding postwar Japanese society and Japan’s interactions with East Asia. Unraveling the history of Manchuria will also offer important hints for thinking about modern times and the future.”
