The basis of this folk rock backing track is the popular chord progression B minor, G major, D major, A major. But there is always a key change after 4 passes. The last chord of the sequence is interpreted as a dominant and then leads to the new key. Each key change shifts the chord progression up a minor third. After this has happened four times, you get back to the original key.
Bm - G - D - A (A is the dominant of D major or D minor)
Dm - Bb - F - C (C is the dominant of F major or F minor)
Fm - Db - Ab - Eb (Eb is the dominant of Ab or G#, enharmonically swapped)
G#m - E - B - F# (and with F# as the dominant you get back to B minor, which is where it all started.)
