Anna Lie sang in small bars on the outskirts of Norway during the early seventies. One day a strange old man came up to her after a concert and claimed to be a distant relative of Anna. He introduced himself as Moe Lester and said he had music business connections in USA. A naive Anna believed the old dirty man, and the two started a 3-month long boat journey towards the promised land. Anna was willing to do anything to reach her dreams of being a music icon. That's also what she did during those three long months at sea.
It didn't take long after arriving to realize that she had been fooled. The old man Moe Lester wasn't a relative, nor did he have any connections in the music business. Anna had to struggle and make her way upwards on her own and worked with many shady producers before she met Bill Sphinktor in New York. This song is the first fruit of that relationship. That's also when she decided to change her name from Lie to Lee. The rest is history...
