Much of the '70s blues rock guitar vocabulary of players like Clapton, Beck, Page, Young and Green had been influenced by Freddie King. Squealing vibrato bends, fast sequenced licks and cascading runs all became regular tools of the trade when they were passed down to the next generation of players armed with more distortion.
Despite his influence, Freddie seems to rarely get as much recognition as his peers B.B and Albert. If you're not as familiar with his playing, his lead work in this video will provide a solid idea of his playing style - many of his licks I'm sure will seem familiar...
