
Elvis released five singles at Sun Records but achieved very little national success. Wow, did that change when he signed to RCA at the end of 1955.
His first single on his new label, Heartbreak Hotel, gave him a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic. When he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show he attracted an audience of 60 million people. In the November he made his debut on the big screen with his first movie, Love Me Tender. 1956 couldn't have ended better for Elvis, he had ten singles on the Billboard Hot-100
