After three months of a coup and the expulsion of France, Nigeria becomes the world's fourth FASTEST GROWING economy.

Victory for Niger and Burkina Faso. Why are we saying this? Well, apart from the fact that they kicked France out of their countries, the IMF has recently made an interesting projection for the year 2024 concerning their economy. According to the IMF, Niger will be the fourth fastest-growing economy in the world and the first fastest-growing economy in Africa while Burkina Faso will be the ninth fastest-growing economy in the world and the sixth in Africa. Shocking right? It's amazing that despite the economic and financial sanctions imposed on them due to the coup as well as the insurgency attacks, Niger and Burkina Faso will be among the top 10 fastest-growing economies in the world. But again maybe it shouldn't really be shocking because since the coup these countries have begun to make some policies that will undoubtedly affect the growth of the economy. Take Niger for instance, where immediately after the coup, the price of uranium, one of its major exports shot up to as high as 200 euro per kg, a dramatic increase from the previous 0.80 euro per kg. Aside from this, the commissioning of the 90,000 bopd Niger-Benin oil export pipeline will also have a significant effect on Niger’s economy. The pipeline will enable the land-locked country to triple oil production and finally export it instead of just refining it locally.
