Here's the one thing every PS5 Slim user should be checking at least once a year to prevent performance issues, loud fan noise, and slowing down over time.. I show you step-by-step how to EASILY clean your PlayStation 5 Slim Console and keep it running like new condition. Use microfiber always to prevent your PS5 from turning into a PS4 or PS3 all scratched up.. You might know how to clean the original PS5, however the PS5 Slim is very different! If you do this once a year you will be glad you did because it prevents damage to the PS5 Slim over time! The things you will need to are a microfiber towel, Torx T8 screwdriver, needle nose pliers, air duster, & vacuum hose attachment. Follow these instructions & as always, be careful any time you clean your PS5!

The first step is to lay the PS5 face down with the power disconnected & remove the PS5 console cover right above the disc drive. Then use a Torx T8 screwdriver to remove the cooling fan. Then, use a pair of needle-nose pliers to carefully disconnect the fan. Now lift the cooling fan from the PlayStation 5 and use an air duster to remove any build up. Make sure to never use an air duster on the PS5 exterior cooling vents as it will force more dust deeper into the system to the point you will have to take apart the PS5 to remove it! Next, make sure to vacuum out the dust catcher, the cooling fan housing, and exterior vents to get any excess dust from the PS5 Slim. Then reassemble the fan and reattach the console cover. Make sure you are only using a microfiber towel to clean the exterior black trim as it scratches very easily just like the original PS4 or even the PS3..
