Which pipe test plug is better and why does one of them cost 5 times more?

I would like to share my experience buying 2 pipe test plugs. They are both from Cherne. One of them is a mechanical test plug and the other is an inflatable ball / balloon test plug.

The mechanical test plug failed multiple times. It got loose after a lot of pressure pushed against it. When I tried to fasten the butterfly nut more, it started leaking through the butterfly nut assembly.

The inflatable rubber ball works great, but it cost about $300. It is very expensive if you are not a professional plumber.
