Here's some conversation about how to "think music" like a skilled blues improviser, beginning with the smallest of melodic motifs. With Adam Gussow of ModernBluesHarmonica.com. Gussow explores his ideas on a Hohner Super 64 Chromonica, key of C. He's playing in the key of D.
Gussow is an associate professor of English and Southern Studies at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. His recent albums, available on iTunes and Amazon mp3s, include KICK AND STOMP, SOUTHBOUND, and, with Sterling "Mr. Satan" Magee, BACK IN THE GAME by Satan & Adam. (The outro music is Gussow's remake of the Sanford and Son theme.)
