the pontiff of peaceful poetry, Pete Namlook, presents an idyllic imprint of inspired inactivity from the cozy chambers of the comfortably consolatory FAX +49-69/450464 record label. the man essentially had the proverbial 'Midas' touch' (or perhaps 'Midas' ear') when it came to ambient music. much like a large proportion of the FAX catalogue, the music featured on this compilation was mostly improvised; in this particular instance the music was excerpted from live 'chill sessions' conducted at a mysterious venue in Frankfurt known as 'XS'. FAX is all about the mystery and myth, in fact those attributes probably account for its initial appeal for a lot of people - i myself was drawn to the label for similar reasons. i hope you enjoy this serving of serenity :)
