the big bad wolf is a fictional wolf appearing in several cautionary tales, including some of grimms' fairy tales. versions of this character have appeared in numerous works, and it has become a generic archetype of a menacing predatory antagonist. "little red riding hood" is a european fairy tale about a young girl and a sly wolf. a stalking wolf wants to eat the girl and the food in the basket. he swallows the grandmother whole (in some stories, he locks her in the closet) and waits for the girl, disguised as the grandmother. "the three little pigs" is a fable about three pigs who build their houses of different materials. a big bad wolf blows down the first two pigs' houses which are made of straw and sticks respectively, but is unable to destroy the third pig's house that is made of bricks.

bigfoot, also commonly referred to as sasquatch, is a large and hairy human-like mythical creature purported to inhabit forests in north america, particularly in the pacific northwest. enthusiasts of the subject have offered various forms of dubious evidence to prove bigfoot’s existence, including anecdotal claims of sightings, as well as alleged photographs, video and audio recordings, hair samples, and casts of large footprints. most of this evidence has since been identified as hoaxes or misidentification. the majority of scientists do not find any of the remaining evidence compelling, and instead generally consider it to be the result of a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal.
