Welcome to another instalment in renovating our 120 year old house in Normandy, France, that we bought at a bargain price in December 2020.
In this video I insulate and board out the ceiling in the salon. Coving and a ceiling rose are fitted and then it is painted..
The insulation is the same 200mm thick rockwool I have used in the kitchen and bedroom previously
The coving and ceiling rose are made from polystyrene as plaster items are not readily available in France unless you go to a specialist, (read expensive), company. I wouldn't normally use polystyrene products but it is flame retardant, it will melt but not burn on its own.
Of course there have been a few other things done in the house as well, these are shown at the end of the video.
Thank you everyone who has subscribed and commented on our videos, I am pleased that so many people have taken the time to watch our adventure.
