On June 14, 2022 while swimming with his young sons, Brad Hassig sank to the bottom of their backyard pool during a meditative breathing exercise. He wouldn’t experience physical consciousness again for another 10-20 minutes when he was revived by medical personnel on his pool deck after his 10-year old twin sons and a neighborhood friend heroically pulled him from the bottom of the pool and saved his life. The story filled local news media and was picked up by national news media leading to appearances on The Today Show and Good Morning America for Brad and the boys. It’s an amazing story of heroism, resourcefulness, and determination by three young boys. But what the news media didn’t cover were the details of what Brad experienced as he drowned in his pool that day, and God’s presence in what happened both above the water in Brad’s rescue, and especially with Brad as he was dying under that water. Today, he shares all of that, and how he has been transformed since his experience that day.
