Here is the ensemble of three handmade ribbon controller type instruments, which was performed on Jan 19th 2019. The song is titled "Obi(帯)". Utilizing pitch slide and vibrato, which are the major features of these instruments, there are scenes that make you feel Japanese ancient music like "Gagaku(雅楽)" and "Noh(能)", or contemporary classical music, or bizarre freaky music. The mood of the performance changes every moment. And I also think when these three instruments generate continuous tone simultaneously, the resonance of the cluster chords colliding or blending with the delicate pitch and tone change is unique in this ensemble. And Mr.Motohashi also plays the Wavedrum. He is developer of this instrument as well. Not only our instruments are DIY but also we play DIY music.

2019/1/19に行われた自作リボンコントローラー系楽器の集いより、"帯"という曲の演奏風景です。これらの楽器の大きな特徴であるピッチスライドやビブラートを生かし、雅楽や能を感じさせる場面や、現代音楽的場面、怪しくフリーキーな場面・・・と刻々と演奏が変化します。３者が違った役割を持つ場面があるだけでなく、３者が同時に持続音を出し、その微妙な音程や音色の変化でぶつかり合ったり溶け合ったりするクラスター和音の響きもこれらの楽器の合奏ならではと言えるかと思います。楽器がDIYなだけでなく演奏する音楽もDIYです。
