For the crypto world, the year 2022 was one of the worst in its history: first, the global economic crisis caused crypto prices to plummet, then one major crypto project after another suddenly went bust. In total, $2 trillion in value simply vanished into thin air last year. But that didn't stop the global crypto elite from meeting up in St. Moritz, the elite skiing resort in the Swiss alps, to to talk about the future of the industry, inhale sumptuous canapés and, of course, ski.

The special guest at this conference: Changepen Zhao, or "CZ", the mysterious founder of the exchange Binance and ostensibly the richest man in crypto. After the crash of rival platform FTX and the arrest of its founder, erstwhile crypto prodigy Sam Bankman-Fried, CZ is today the unchallenged top dog of crypto. But critics say that his business isn't that much more trustworthy than FTX – and we tried to interview him.
