Kenny Schick - on musical style.
Kenny Schick - is an expressionist songwriter. He paints, or rather regards things in a way that is different from that of other artists and songwriters. His mind is not simple and of course then neither are his words nor his musical style or way of playing. "I hear the song in my head, and then I try to play it and sometimes that can take years" he says.
His songs are about the universal anxiety of modern man, a reflection and self-examination of self, of an artist and of a songwriter. Musical genres do not seem to adequately describe Kenny Schick's music, one must simply listen and make up ones own mind about it. Like a painting, sometimes its not about understanding but to simply witness it, feel it and listen to it... and thus become a part of it... and audience and artist becomes one.
