This rescue video is hard to watch. The seal is exhausted, in pain, and deeply wounded by a tight piece of fishing line that had cut deep into her neck. Her raw flesh was exposed, and every movement must have hurt. Imagine living like that, in pain every moment, growing weaker, hungry, and unable to fish. And then, one day, you’re suddenly pinned down by humans you don’t understand, poking and tugging at the very place that hurts the most. It’s no wonder some rescues make us pause and take a breath before we start editing the video. This is not just marine litter. It’s unethical. And even the staunchest defenders of industrial fishing must see: this is not right.
