Watch in HD!!! This is a play through of a song titled 'The Constant' off of the latest Skyharbor record called 'Guiding Lights'. Its the first of many play-throughs I plan to do for the album. I was very busy touring with Intervals in 2014, and it left me in a position where I couldn't devote as much time to Skyharbor as I had hoped to. It was tough because not only did I miss out on playing shows with the band in India late 2014, but its also taken me forever to get a play through out for any of the songs off of 'Guiding Lights'. Im very proud of this album, and this music is some of the most emotional material I've ever played live. I do plan on making videos for every song off of the record.

Im still trying to figure out how to record and mix this new kit. I've been trying to leave majority of my tracks as natural as possible. I haven't used any compression on any of my drums except for my room mic's. Im also using parallel compression for the entire drum mix. I found my self in the past over processing all of my drums, and Im trying to ease up on mixing my videos so heavily. I eventually want to get to a point where I can just rely strictly on parallel compression and reverb with a hint of EQ on the master chain to make my mix. This way, what you hear is literally what got tracked. I've had a lot of questions regarding mixing drums, yet Im still trying to improve and learn more my self. I feel like it would be interesting for people to hear the natural tones Im working with!!!
