🥄 What if your thoughts were soup?
“Soup” by 9000UK is an experimental indie rock anthem that plunges into surrealism, anxiety, and comfort in chaos.
It’s a metaphor you can almost taste.
“Soup — I'm drowning in reflection,
Salted pain with no direction.”

🎵 SOUP (By 9000UK)
(Lyrics by Ioannis Ntizoglou)
Verse 1
Woke up in a bowl of lightning,
Croutons screaming, “Get out, you're frightening!”
Stirred my thoughts with a plastic spoon,
My brain went soft around half past noon.
Microwave moon on the ceiling flickers,
Tongue burnt twice, still sip it quicker.
Tomato dreams, but the salt’s too loud —
I'm dancing with spoons in a thundercloud.
Chorus
Soup — I'm sinking in it slowly,
Stir me up, but don’t console me.
Hot and cold at the same damn time,
Is it comfort food or a warning sign?
Soup — this life’s just stew and static,
Sour taste, but it's cinematic.
Pass the ladle, toss the truth —
We were never meant to chew.
Verse 2
Alphabet noodles spelling “RUN,”
But the broth says, “Stay till the song is done.”
Mushroom murmurs from under the lid,
“Reality's thin and the pot’s unzipped.”
Ladle swings like a pendulum clock,
Counting down to the next weird shock.
Simmering secrets in onion skin,
I took a sip and felt the spin.
Chorus
Soup — I'm floating in confusion,
Boiled down in self-infusion.
Sip the chaos, taste the past,
Every bowl is built to crash.
Soup — thick with guilt and garlic,
Swallow rage, then smile nostalgic.
Spill my name out on the floor —
I don’t know what I’m hungry for.
Bridge
You ever scream into a teacup?
You ever beg a kettle not to boil?
You ever wish the fridge would lie to you,
And say, “Hey, you’re fine. You're just out of milk.”
Chorus
Soup — I'm drowning in reflection,
Salted pain with no direction.
Every stir just stirs up more —
This ain’t soup, it’s metaphor.
Soup — go ahead, just take a sip,
Life reduced to drip by drip.
If I dissolve, don’t be afraid…
Even steam has dreams it made.
Outro
Clink of spoon, fade to black —
Who knew soup could talk back?
