An illegal migrant from El Salvador accused of chasing a federal prosecutor with a knife flashed a care-free smile in court Thursday as he pleaded guilty to downgraded charges.Saul Morales-Garcia, 40, was slapped with a 90-day sentence after he copped to misdemeanor charges of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon for threatening US Attorney for the Northern District of New York John Sarcone near the Albany Hilton on June 17.
Morales-Garcia was remanded to Albany County Correctional Facility but is facing likely deportation — though Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents weren’t present at the courthouse.
