IJO - Qrantin (Cassette Album, IDM, 2020)



This is my newest mini album under my IJO moniker. I have recorded it during the first lockdown we had here. This is a cassette rip. Cassette was limited to 20 copies only. Tracks B2 and B3 are exclusive to the tape release and not included in a digital version.

Production wise, it was all produced on a computer. No hardware this time.

I have used Fruity Loops to program my drum breaks and SoundForge to mangle them and make them sound complex. Reason 10 for melodies, sequencing and mixing. B2 was mixed on Soundcraft Signature 12MTK, B3 was sequenced and mixed in SoundForge.

With this release, I felt, I wanted to do something similar to what I was doing earlier in my so-called career. Complex beat patterns and gentle and soft melodies. I wouldn't be able to achieve this kind of complexity by using hardware only setup.
