Phoney bomb threats that appeared to originate in many cases from Russian email domains targeted polling locations across several U.S. states on Tuesday, according to officials.

At least two polling sites targeted by hoax bomb threats in the election battleground state of Georgia were briefly evacuated and re-opened after approximately 30 minutes.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger blamed Russian interference for the incidents, saying in an update from Atlanta that Russia has “picked on the wrong Georgia” and that they will not “be intimidated.” Raffensperger added that “At the end of the day, we are the United States of America — never lose sight of that.”

"It definitely is something that makes me scared,” voter Mya Morton said outside of a polling station in Stone Mountain, Ga. “Regardless, I think that we should at the bare minimum be able to come and vote and just have our rights met and just be happy in unity.”
