🎙 Explore the evolution of (ELECTRIC) TEXAS BLUES, starting from 1936. Dive into the iconic music that revolutionized dance floors:
✨ **Origins**: Texas Blues is one of the most important types of Country Blues. Like so many other genres, Texas Blues evolved from a strictly acoustic style to an electric one. The addition of electric guitars wouldn’t happen until the late forties, but this changed it into something else: proto Blues Rock. Blues suddenly sounded a lot more edgy, emotional, and rough; something that made up the core of Blues, but which it had lost along the way (with all the hyperactive, jazzy types of Blues). Because this modern approach ironically put Blues back in touch with its roots, electric guitars were suddenly found in all types of Blues, whether it was Delta, Texas, Memphis, Chicago, Detroit or whatnot. Strictly speaking, Electric Blues is therefore an umbrella term, but a very real and important one. (Electric) Texas Blues is characterized by exuberant showmanship; its musicians like to impress the audience with energetic solos and assertive performance. Despite its modest popularity, Texas Blues was of great influence to more modern Blues genres and the primary exponent of Country Blues.
