Russian forces unleashed a combined drone and missile strike on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv early on Saturday, killing at least three people in a central district, city officials said. Explosions boomed across the pre-dawn sky as air defences repelled the attack, which also wounded three others, according to military administration chief Timur Tkachenko. He said four people had been killed, while police reported three deaths.
“What can you say, (the Russians) are inhuman beasts,” said a 16-year-old Vladyslav, whose friend’s apartment windows got shattered.
Another Russian missile attack in Zaporizhzhia, wounded 10 people and damaged the southeastern city's St. Andrew’s Cathedral as well as an industrial facility, according to the regional governor.
“We have a man that guards the church. Thank God he is not hurt. He says he felt something coming and went to another room. He is safe,” Cleric Yaroslav Popov said.
