In this video installment, we discuss Plato’s dialogue, MENO. In the dialogue, Meno argues that no one can come to know a correct answer to Socrates' "What is F?" question (Meno 80d5-8).

Although Meno believes his argument is sound, Socrates is quick to dismiss it (80e1-81a3). He maintains that the conclusion is acceptable only to those who are "lazy" and "soft" enough to be persuaded by a "contentious argument" (81d5-e1). In my presentation, I explain Meno's argument and Socrates's evaluation.
