Happy World Party Day!

To mark World Party Day, we have dug out from our archive a compilation of footage from between the early 1990s, when ITN investigated a new kind of party that was growing in popularity across Europe: the rave. ITN’s crews travelled to Manchester, where the so-called ‘Madchester’ indie dance scene was in full swing. Between February 1992 and February 1993, ITN cameras captured a significant moment in the history of British counter-culture, preserved forever in the ITN Archive.
