Inspired by the sensational range of work created by filmmakers during lockdown, alongside the main Depict competition, this year, we are also running a one-off Depict Lockdown selection.

Join BFI NETWORK South West Talent Executive Alix Taylor for this special Watchalong as part of Encounters Film Festival, a chance to watch these collectively and get to know some of the creative talent behind the films.

Many of the shorts selected were made in response to our #shortitout call to action earlier this year, a collaboration between Encounters, Watershed and BFI NETWORK as well as industry partners including Channel 4, BAFTA and Aardman Animations.

Whilst some of us struggled (and are still struggling) with isolation, stress or even grief, and others were just at a loose end looking for something to do, lockdown has resulted in some inspired creative responses.
