US President Donald Trump on January 27 had a "productive" phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which the two leaders discussed issues including security in the Indo-Pacific, West Asia, and Europe. Later, the US President noted he discussed the issue of immigration with the Indian leader and said Prime Minister Modi "will do what's right" when it comes to taking back Indian immigrants who came to the US illegally. Trump has pledged to crack down on illegal immigration. Earlier, reports said that India would take back some 18,000 Indian migrants living in the United States illegally.
