During the last week i practiced on Drill type beats production with my Electribe 2s. Drill sound it's really close to trap but with distintive rhythm patterns and in general dark atmospheres, deep basslines and suspended drum patterns. In order to get the right tools i loaded on Electribe a selection of "real" instruments like pianos, rhodes, koto and some other one shot samples, then written all the harmonic progressions and drum patterns. The Electribe 2s is a quite powerful instrument with deep sounds and relatively advanced sound editing features, the synth is flexible also if have just 1 oscillator per part. The E2s give the best, for me, when used as one-shot drum sampler, for this application it offer advanced editing features like filters, envelopes, pitch and some interesting insert FX like punch (great for snares transient shaping) and overdrive (i use a lot on kicks, they made it dirty and fat).
