As these adorable creatures sometimes turn vicious and end up claiming the lives of their owners, other times, it’s just a matter of fate, and there’s no way we can escape that. Yikes! To think man’s best friend would be starting off this list. Our first incident is a deliberate definition of fate. Harry Price, a high school math teacher, had developed a hobby for hunting and spent most of his free time out in the jungle. On this fateful day, he’d invited one of his former students to tag along in his hunting escapade. I believe you can sense the excitement in such an invitation? It was obvious, Harry would enjoy showcasing some of his remarkable hunting skills to his mate, if not enjoy the company staking out for an evening adventure. Like any other hunter, Harry carried his gun and his dog, who played a vital role in the course of the hunt. After losing track of the goose he’d identified, he rushed to the car to release his dog, who was good at tracking down prey. The young champ was excited and couldn’t stop wagging his tail once he heard his owner’s footsteps approaching the truck. Everything else after freeing the dog happened within a split second, and the next thing was a thudding sound from his rifle. Can you imagine that his mate found him lying pale on the ground, bleeding profusely? Without thinking twice, he rushed him to the nearest hospital, where he succumbed to his injury due to loss of excessive blood. After a detailed investigation, the police found dog prints on the murder weapon. It was obvious the dog was the culprit. He was always happy when out hunting and couldn’t contain its excitement. The unfortunate thing is that it will never see its owner again.

9. Czech filmmaker attacked by a lion

If you think keeping a cat for a pet is a big deal, wait till you meet fifty-three-year-old Ases Basista, who lives with two mature lions namely Mijanika and Alex. What’s even more shocking besides playing tug of war with the folks at home, Mijanka and Alex were allowed to roam the house. One day a film crew visited, hoping to do a feature of the animals. As they set up the film equipment, the lioness pounced at one of the film crew, nearly tearing him apart were it not for the resident’s quick intervention. They struggled with the big cat for a minute before letting go of the poor man’s arm. Basista claimed the animal was only playing and, posed n harm to the crew but by the looks of the video do you believe so? Even the neighbors claimed that these animals were vicious and a threat to the community at large. The guy was lucky to have walked out of that encounter alive only nursing some minor wounds. It’s still unclear how the family was allowed to keep such pets at home, but for whatever reason, I wouldn’t dare have two lions as my house guest.

6. Humphrey the hippo takes the owners life

When you hear the name Humphrey the hippo, you'd probably think that this is a cartoon character. But we aren't speaking on any cartoons today so be sure this is a real-life hippo. I know it sounds crazy, but one ex-army major kept this beast for a pet. It weighed over a tonne and had a mischievous character of chasing after people. This, in no way, made the former army major fear this strange pet. He even went ahead to justify his love for the hippo claiming that no one would understand it. He fed the beast by himself every day in the small lake he built for him.
One day, however, he was found floating in the lake with his favorite human. He also had very gruesome wounds on his body that couldn't have been caused by anything other than his pet hippo.
