I'm trying to stick to this head bobbing blend of #triphop , #lofihiphop and #boombap but my tunes usually tend to be heavy with #synthesizer sounds rather than natural samples like horns, pianos, etc. and I'm also a child of the 80's so things like #newwave #synthpop tend to come out of me, too.
So I'm going to lean into that sound and purposely try to blend those styles. I'm calling it #tripwave which to be honest, someone else used that term to describe one of my tracks before so maybe that's already a thing? I don't know.
I also googled the term #synthbap and though I found some dope stuff, it wasn't real similar.
Anyways, I'm getting long winded. This is a proof of concept for a whole set/#beattape I'm working on in this style.
What would you call this style? The artist in me hates genres and labels but they can be useful if it helps get your work to someone who is looking for stuff like what you do.
I hope you've enjoyed this. If you'd ever like to support my work in some small way, I'd love for you to grab some of my music. It's available on all streaming platforms but I like Bandcamp as they're a fair place for artists IMO.
Thanks for watching and listening and as always, happy music making.
