Hello Friends, In this short video. will look into growing Chrysanthemums from seeds.
Chrysanthemums sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. The flowers come in variety of colors and are really beautiful to look at.

One of the major problem of growing Chrysanthemums from seeds is You never know what you will get when you plant Chrysanthemums seeds. They will bloom the first year after planting but may not carry all traits of the parent plant. Growing Chrysanthemum from seeds is really easy. The only problem is uncertainty of the bloom.
It is best to start them one month before winters, but you can grow them anytime of the year and they do best in spring season.
Take some good quality seeds from a reliable source and check the dates of packaging and use before the expiry date.
You need any well draining soil like the Universal Potting Mix, I made in one of my videos, which is well draining as well as nutritious to the plants. You can check this video after you finish this one from the video link at top right corner of this video.
Well, you can take a single wide container or seed germination trays if you have and fill the seed starter mix into the compartments.
Then take some seeds and sprinkle into the compartments like about 1 or 2 seeds in each cell.
Then cover this with a 5 mm layer of the same potting mix.
Then spray water and keep it moist. You can keep this on a window sil away from direct sunlight. Or you can even keep indoors under some heat source for faster germination.
Make sure its kept moist by checking the soil for moisture daily.
You should see the results of these seed germinations in about a 8 to 10 days.
So, there we have it folks, that was a really easy way to grow Chrysanthemum plants from seeds. Due to its uncertainty of flowering, its usually best grown from cloning, that’s by way of cuttings, because you know the color or the variety you are growing and you get exactly the same replica like the mother plant by growing Chrysanthemum from cuttings.
