I built a preamplifier using a BC549 transistor and replaced the condenser mic with a piezoelectric plate. Surprisingly, the piezo captures instrument sounds much more clearly. This happens because a piezo sensor directly converts vibrations into electrical signals, making it more sensitive to physical sound sources like guitars, drums, and other instruments. Unlike a condenser mic, which picks up more airborne noise, a piezo focuses on direct vibrations, resulting in a clearer and stronger signal for instruments.
