The album's measured, yet quite varied sound holds the attention without allowing the music to become background. Field recordings from the banks of northern rivers, analog synthesizers and a number of magical manipulations with sound take the form of eternally lasting soundscapes. There is a place for the gloomy pre-dawn haze, ephemeral voices from the coastal thickets, and the age-old silence of the forest thicket. The grass sleeps, the water idly observes itself, the black forest on the horizon is thought rather than seen. Speculative walks through the nooks and crannies of the wallpaper always end unexpectedly — a new place, a forest or an empty lot.
